Beauty Awards
Cosmetic Executive Women Inc or CEW is a non-profit organization with over 4,000 beauty related industries. Based in New York the CEW is the leading trade organization in the beauty industry that hosts many events and programs related to beauty out of which the Beauty Awards program is a major trade event. The Beauty Awards hosted by CEW recognize the best and most innovative beauty products of the year. The media coverage of the winners reaches to almost 150 million consumers worldwide. The Beauty Awards begins with the largest display of the new products.

The finalists are selected by the members of the CEW and experts in the field of beauty. Winners are chosen by a voting committee from the board of CEW. The votes are confidential and the winners are announced in a live star studded program in presence of nearly 1300 top executives from the beauty industry. The categories included in the 2008 Beauty Awards are

  • Body Treatment
  • Facial Skincare such as Acne Treatment, Anti-Aging, Cleanser & Scrub

CEW has improved the 2008 Beauty Awards Program by bringing about some changes by streamlining categories and new submissions. The products must be of primary benefit for beauty and must available in all retail outlets in USA. The products that are not accepted in the 2008 Beauty awards are gift sets, oral care products, eye curlers, razors, tweezers, new sizes of existing products, repacking of new products and any additions of existing products. The CEW only determines the eligibility of the product to be nominated for the award and the category to which it belongs.

The CEW demonstrates its products to its members to make then aware of the products that have entered the competition. In 2007 close to 600 new products were demonstrated at the Metropolitan Pavilion on February 15 where the members could touch and smell and test the products from across 34 different categories from among the new and innovative beauty products launched during 2006. The Beauty Awards Luncheon is the most celebrated events after the beauty Awards where all the top beauty industry professionals gather.

The 2008 Beauty Awards product demonstration will be organized on February 20th 2008 at Metropolitan Pavillion. The product demonstration gives the members of CEW to have first hand information of the products. There is a limitation to the demonstration. The members who failed to attend the demonstration event can view only the online ballot book which contains the description of the products. Those who have attended the demonstration will be given a gift bag.
