The legacy of honoring the artists is age old and the modern world has been able to retain the same. We listen to songs of various genres in our daily life. Arranging an award ceremony for the singers and musicians is quite an old phenomenon. Although the venues for this award ceremony changes every year, it remains confined within the famous European cities. Cities like, Berlin, Munich, Rome, London are among the popular hosts. The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards is expected to be hosted in Liverpool of United Kingdom. The glory of these award ceremonies is worth noticing. The preparation for this award ceremony starts much before the actual day and all the singers contributing towards world music are invited on this occasion. People all over the world eagerly wait for this award ceremony.

The popularity about Awards related to music is always on high, and especially when it comes to MTV Europe Music Awards. While Eminem is reputed for bagging most number of awards (9), he is closely followed by Justin Timberlake, Muse, The Prodigy, Britney Spears, Linkin Park, Backstreet Boys, etc. While Bryan Adams and Mariah Carey won the awards for Best Male and female singers in 1994, the next year it was the turn of Michael Jackson and Björk. While Jon Bon Jovi was awarded the best male singer in 1997, Janet Jackson was awarded the best female singer. The award for the best group went to Spice Girls. Singers like, Madonna, Robbie Williams, Jennifer Lopez, etc who have appealed to our hearts with their mellifluous voice and excellent songs.
